Galle, Sri Lanka.
In December last year RJLP were asked to help in supplying a young woman with an artificial leg by a non-Rotarian in Southern Sri Lanka. We contacted the local Jaipur Limb workshop at Mahamadora Hospital, Galle, through the RC Galle. The young woman was in need of intensive physiotherapy to strengthen her muscles and generally prepare her for walking again. In August 2004 the process of physio and limb fitting was complete and Jeewani was able to walk again and get a job.
Actual cost of Physio and new limb, £277.00, was paid for by RC Hamble Valley, District 1110.
November 2004
Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
This limb camp was held in November 2004. The work was carried out by technicians from the Jaipur Limb Centre in Delhi and organised by the RC Moradabad.

November 2004.
Ekwendeni, Malawi.
After five years of negotiations this first phase of providing an Orthopaedic Centre at the CCAP Mission Hospital, Ekwendeni, Nr Mzuzu, in Northern Malawi, was completed. The old maternity building was completely rebuilt to provide this stand-alone facility, thanks to the funding provided by RC Jersey and the perseverance of Rotarians from the relatively new Rotary Club of Mzuzu, District 9210 - and Rtn Hayden Boyd in particular. When the second phase of this facility is completed in 2005, amputees from the Northern region will no longer have to make the long journey down to Blantyre.

Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
This limb camp was held in January 2005, following the hugely successful camp held in April 2004. The work was carried out by technicians from the Jaipur Limb Centre in Delhi and six volunteer orthopaedic surgeons and was, once again, organised by the RC Bangalore Peenya.

Initial registrations indicated that approximately 600 patients would attend.
In fact during the camp a total of 1785 Patients attended and were treated.:
289 Jaipur limbs were made and fitted. 330 Pairs of crutches were supplied. 210 Corrective surgery operations were carried out. 891 Polio calipers were made and fitted. 65 Hand operated wheelchairs were supplied.
March 2005
Mumbai, India.
There are an estimated one million street children in Mumbai. The RC of Mumbai organised this project to provide corrective surgery for 500 of them crippled by polio. Ongoing care will be financed by the Indian Government.

Dharamasala, India
This project was designed to help handicapped Tibetan children now living, with the Dalai Llama, in the community of Dharamasala, Northern India, to become mobile in one way or another. It was organised by RC Bombay Seaface in India and sponsored by RC Llantwit Major in UK.

>Kano, Nigeria. Phase 1.
The Ade Majiyagbe Memorial Limb Centre project is in two phases. Phase 1. To refurbish and convert an abandoned building at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Kano, into a stand-alone orthopaedic workshop making and fitting artificial legs using the Jaipur technology has been completed.
The Jaipur Limb Project committee of RC Kano, chaired by PDG Tunji Funsho, will manage the refurbishment project and oversee the ongoing project.
Estimate for the refurbishment, including hand railing, new steps and a ramp-access for wheelchairs. ................ $ 14,933.00
Financed out of RJLP General Funds.

Kano, Nigeria. Phase 2
The major part of the project, to supply equipment, materials and staff training, will be managed by Trustees of the Rotary Jaipur Limb Project and sponsored by Rotary Clubs from all over RIBI led by RC Hamble Valley, District 1110.
Equipment will include Laser Alignment, Sand Casting and Vacuum Moulding techniques developed in the modern Research and Development unit of BMVSS in Jaipur.

A self-contained Orthopaedic workshop, to make and fit lower-limbs using the Jaipur technology, based in a to-be-converted redundant warehouse at the regional clinic in Supoma-Dankwa.
